AMOS: Please join the AMOS (A Mid-Iowa Organizing Strategy) Youth and Education Research Team and other interested community members in an interactive session of sharing results of our interviews with 21 educators and service providers in our community, discussing priorities and deciding on next steps to close gaps in our current systems.
AMOS Youth & Education Research Team Results-Sharing Session on gaps, barriers and ideas for improving at-risk student intervention in Ames, 7-8:30 pm, Thursday, April 14, 2011, at the Ames High School Cafeteria.
Goals of the session: 1)Increase awareness and understanding of gaps, barriers, ideas and the role of AMOS and the community for at-risk student intervention in Ames. 2)Enhance community participation and ideas for solutions. 3)Commit to next steps – AMOS and others
AMOS provides a way for community members to organize around issues in which they share an interest. Made up of 28 interdenominational groups and organizations, eight in Ames, AMOS pursues an agenda with multiple issues and responds to the concerns and pressures citizens feel. The top youth and education concern voiced in house meetings of hundreds of Ames citizens in fall, 2009 was youth at risk of dropping out of our system. Please join us in creating collaborative solutions.
